Wedding bells were ringing for Mel B, who got married to hairstylist Rory McPhee in London on Saturday, July 5. The musician left her animal print-wearing “Scary Spice” persona behind for not one, but two elegant wedding dresses—and surprisingly, neither of the one-of-a-kind wedding gowns was designed by Mel B’s Spice Girls bestie Victoria Beckham.
Instead, the British musician said “I do” to McPhee while wearing a custom white gown from Josephine Scott before changing into another wedding dress from designer Justin Alexander, per People. Mel B arrived at St. Paul’s Cathedral wearing the long-sleeved white gown with white pearl beading decorating the sheer mesh neck, shoulders, and wrists of the mockneck design. Little scattered pearls ran down the see-through fabric of Mel B’s arms and decolletage, which was framed with the bustier-style corset bodice of her white mermaid-style wedding dress.
The designer spoke about capturing Mel B’s “fearless spirit and softness all in one look” in an interview with The Sun, explaining, “She’s iconic, powerful, and radiant, and this dress had to be worthy of that. Every detail was chosen to honour her strength and sensuality, while celebrating the woman and the love story beneath the girl power.”
The singer went traditional with her accessories, adding on a dramatic cathedral-length veil, white stiletto heels, and pearl drop earrings. While it appears Mel B and Beckham weren’t able to make a wedding dress collaboration work, she previously told Today hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager that she was planning on having more than one wedding dress on her big day.

“I don’t think it would be fair to just have one,” she shared last January. “Just have as many as you want—at least three, right? I’m going to really go for it. One to actually get married in, which is the proper ceremony—very proper at this church, St. Paul’s [Cathedral]. And then maybe I want to change out of that and be a bit more less… You know, I actually don’t know!”
Unfortunately, “Baby Spice” Emma Bunton was the only one of Mel B’s former bandmates to make it to the St. Paul’s Cathedral ceremony, which is also where Princess Diana and Prince Charles had their 1981 wedding. However, Beckham took to her Instagram Story to share a sweet shout-out for Mel B alongside a video of all of the Spice Girls together.

“Congratulations @officialmelb and @rorymcphee on your special day!” she wrote. “I couldn’t be more excited for you both and wish you a lifetime of happiness! Kisses xx.”
Posh Spice, who got married to David Beckham on July 4 26 years earlier, also shared a photo of herself and Brown all dressed up at an event together. “Sending you love @officialmelb. @rorymcphee is a very lucky man!” she captioned it.
