Michigan’s season felt finished, and not for the first time. But after trailing by as many as 10 points in the second half, the No. 5 seed Wolverines rallied for a 91-79 win against No. 4 seed Texas A&M in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday. The win moved the Big Ten to 10-0 in the tournament.
The in-game turnaround continued a trend for a Michigan team that lost three in a row by a combined 43 points to end the regular season before going on a run to the Big Ten tournament title. The Wolverines are suddenly winners of five in a row, all against NCAA Tournament teams, and they’re set for a date with either No. 1 seed Auburn or No. 9 seed Creighton in the Sweet 16 of the South region in Atlanta.
