Adam Sandler is back as the unlikely golfer
Netflix viewers have called a major Happy Gilmore 2 cameo ‘perfect’ as they were left in hysterics by the comedy sequel.
Following nearly three decades of waiting, the Adam Sandler golf comedy was released on the streaming giant on Friday (July 25).
Despite having an immense catalogue of films to choose from, legendary comic actor Sandler has only made follow-ups to three of his movies prior to Happy Gilmore 2.
Grown Ups was the first time he played a character for the second time, going on to do it again with Hotel Transylvania and Murder Mystery.
Fans were certain that they’d never see the day where he’d returned to the rough around the edges golfer with a heart of golf.
The original Happy Gilmore saw him throw away his dream of playing a hockey player after discovering his anger made him an unorthodox golfing sensation.
Released in 1996, and featuring Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Ben Stiller and the late Carl Weathers, the film became a staple of teenage sleepovers when it hit VHS.

In a world where nostalgia draws eyes, Happy Gilmore 2 follows its titular character as he returns to the sport he hasn’t played in since beating Shooter McGavin in the original.
This time, Happy is determined to win enough money to get his daughter expensive ballet lessons, with Sandler’s real kid Sunny Sandler playing the teenager.
In spite of fans initially just wanting to spend time with Happy, it’s the celebrity cameos that have become the talk of social media.
Golf stars John Daly, Paige Spiranac, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris all play themselves.
Oppenheimer’s Benny Safdie, Spanish musician Bad Bunny and professional wrestlers MJF and Becky Lynch also pop up.
The biggest surpise to arrive from the film is an unlikely appearance than none other that rap legend Eminem, who previously acted with Sandler in 2009’s Funny People.
Rather than playing himself like he normally does, Marshall Mathers plays a heckler who calls Happy a ‘jack**’ in order to put him off his game.
Things don’t go well for Eminem, who appears in a dark wig and bucket hat, as he eventually ends up being thrown into a river with an alligator.
Fans rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to have their say on the moment no one watching at home saw coming.
@FrostyzWRLD said: “Eminem in Happy Gilmore 2 also yeah the internet’s going to have a field day with this one.” @SonaShady8 added: “#Eminem as always was hilarious, Go and watch.”
@TrevorDame commented: “MJF throws Eminem in a pond in Happy Gilmore 2. That’s a weird sentence.” @LevertonCameron posted: “Eminem’s cameo is the best part of #HappyGilmore2.”
@alsopeterbrown commented: “I am so very pleased to report that #HappyGilmore2 doesn’t suck and is genuinely funny with a lot of heart. It’s not on par with the original but only being a few strokes behind after three decades away is honestly a gigantic win for modern feature length comedies.” @carmic38304 stated: “HAPPY GILMORE 2, IS HILARIOUSLY GOOD!”
