After unveiling a first look of the video game console back in January, Nintendo is positioned to release the new Nintendo Switch 2 this summer.
Ready for preorder on Thursday, April 24 at 12 a.m. ET/PT starting at $449, the Nintendo Switch 2 is available at retailers across the web, including Walmart and Target.
Although the new console doesn’t drop until Thursday, June 5, you can preorder it now to guarantee that you get the Nintendo Switch on launch day. And if you preorder by Wednesday, June 4 at 8 a.m. local time at Walmart, you can get it delivered to your home by 9 a.m. local time on June 5.

Even better, if you preorder at Walmart or Target, then you can simply go and pick up the Nintendo Switch 2 at your local retail location. This is one of the best ways to get the console in your hands on launch day.
While it’s good to pick up the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch, you’ll also need games to play, so you can really see how much the new console can handle, compared to the original. Nintendo is a releasing a handful of titles on “Mario Kart World,” “Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour,” “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,” “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” “Sid Meier’s Civilization 7,” “Street Fighter 6,” “Cyberpunk 2077,” “Deltarune,” “Fortnite,” “Arcade Archives 2: Ridge Racer,” “Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut,” “Split Fiction,” “Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster,” “Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S,” “Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening,” “Arcade Archives 2: Ridge Racer” and “Hogwarts Legacy” — and they’re all available for preorder on Walmart and Target too.
