Lando Norris won a partially wet and turbulent British home Grand Prix on Sunday after race leader Oscar Piastri was hit with a 10-second penalty and pole sitter Max Verstappen spun on one of several restarts.
Norris claimed a fourth victory of the season and eighth overall ahead of McLaren team-mate Piastri and Nico Hülkenberg of Sauber, who got a first career Formula One podium at last in his 239th race, with the help of a clever team strategy.

The 37-year-old German fought hard to hold off nine-time Silverstone winner Lewis Hamilton, who failed to make the home podium for the first time since 2013 and is still without a top three finish for Ferrari.
Piastri was punished for slowing down under the safety car and had a late spin scare but second place behind Norris, like last week in Austria, was enough to retain the championship lead.
Four-time reigning champion Verstappen of Red Bull was caught off guard by Piastri’s move, and then spun and slid on the ensuing restart. He had to settle for fifth place in the end, losing further ground in the title race after 12 of 24 races.
