Employees working on the 33rd floor of the Blackstone building in midtown Manhattan barricaded themselves inside their office as a gunman opened fire inside.
Pictures from inside the office show couches stacked up at the entryway in an effort to prevent anyone from entering.
In another picture, employees were seen adding even more pieces of furniture to the stack.

The gunman was armed with a rifle and first opened fire in the lobby of the building on 52nd Street and Park Avenue.
He later went to another floor, where he shot multiple people, before heading to the 33rd floor and shooting himself.
Ultimately, five people were killed, not including the shooter. Among those killed was an NYPD officer.
Five people were killed, including an off-duty female police officer working security, after a gunman opened fire inside the Midtown Manhattan office building.
The gunman was “neutralized” at the scene, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said.
A motive for the shooting has not been disclosed and the connection between the unidentified shooter and the victims was not clear Monday night.
