The MLB has paid tribute to Osbourne, writing online that: “There was only one Ozzy.”

The account shared a viral clip of the rocker and his wife Sharon singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” at a Chicago Cubs game in 2003. Osbourne appeared to forget some of the words to the song, drawing laughs from fans as well as Sharon.

US singer and performer Donny Osmond recalled meeting Osbourne on several occasions, including a Pepsi commercial shoot and backstage at Dancing With the Stars.

“Remembering my brother in music, Ozzy Osbourne. I’ve always looked back at this commercial we shot in ’03 so fondly,” Osmond wrote on X.

“The last time we spoke was backstage of Dancing with The Stars season 9, when he told me how much he loved the Osmond song, “Crazy Horses”…talk about crazy! Thank you for always bringing your authentic personality to everything you’ve touched. From Crazy Horses to Crazy Trains, Rest In Peace.”

In 2002, the Osbourne family took over TV screens in a reality show that aired on MTV.

The programme, which proved popular among audiences in the UK and across the pond, saw them go about their daily lives as cameras documented their every move.

It came to an end in 2005, but the family members, Ozzy and Sharon, and children Kelly and Jack – appeared across similar reality series in the years following.

In 2009, the variety-style show Osbournes Reloaded was broadcast, and between 2016 and 2018, Ozzy and Jack appeared in Ozzy And Jack’s World Detour, in which the father-and-son duo visited different sites to learn about their history.

They also revisited their best bits in the show The Osbournes – The Basement Tapes, which was released in 2024.

One of Ozzy Osbourne’s notorious career moments came when, at a show in Des Moines, Iowa in 1982, he bit the head off a bat.

The creature, thought to be already dead, was thrown on stage by a fan.

The musician only realised afterward that the bat was real and not, in fact, made of rubber, with Osbourne swiftly rushed to hospital after the concert for rabies shots.

US thrash metal band Anthrax said it was an “honour” to be a part of Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell concert as they paid tribute to the heavy metal vocalist.

Posting a picture alongside the rocker the band wrote: “RIP @ozzyosbourne – Like so many around the world, today’s news hit us with truly insane shock and sadness.

“Just over two weeks ago, we were all united in metal under Ozzy’s banner at Back to Beginning; celebrating the legend of Black Sabbath and their ultimate creation: heavy metal.

“For Anthrax to be a part of that was an honor. Ozzy, thank you for everything. Simply put, none of us would be us without you. Our thoughts are with Sharon and the Osbourne family at this time.”

Rock band Motorhead said they had lost a “dear friend today” after the death of Ozzy Osbourne at the age of 76.

In a social media post, they said: “We lost our dear friend today today. Ozzy was a pioneer, a guiding force for all in hard rock and metal, and a great guy too.

“Lemmy and Ozzy were brothers in arms who enjoyed many adventures together, and his loss is seismic. RIP Ozzy, we will always love and celebrate you…”
