Phillies make another trade with Twins to acquire outfielder

Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski let it slip Wednesday when announcing the team had acquired closer Jhoan Duran that “we’re not done.”

The Freudian slip turned true, as a source confirms to NBC Sports Philadelphia, the Phillies are acquiring centerfielder Harrison Bader from the Minnesota Twins for a pair of prospects, Hendry Mendez, an outfielder and right handed pitcher Geremy Villoria.

Bader, 31, is hitting .258 this season with 12 home runs and 38 RBI. He is a career .243 hitter who has played nine years in the league. The Phillies will be his sixth team. 

With less than 5 hours until the trade deadline, the Phillies have acquired OF Harrison Bader from the Twins. Confirmed to NBC Sports Philadelphia, the Phillies sent two prospects to Minnesota for Bader.
