Extension talks with QB Geno Smith to begin
Smith enters the final year of his contract. General manager John Schneider told reporters at the combine that they expect him to continue to be their quarterback and will begin extension talks.
‘A’ grade for HC Mike Macdonald
NFL team report cards were released by the NFLPA this past week. Seattle’s head coach got high marks, earning an ‘A’ from his players.
OT Jason Peters retires, takes on new role
Tackle Jason Peters announced his retirement from the NFL but will remain with the Seahawks, taking on a role as a “veteran mentor.”
Contract talks with LB Ernest Jones
The Seahawks traded for Jones and he helped them turn around their run defense. The team has begun extension talks, hoping to get a deal done before he becomes a free agent on March 12.
S Rayshawn Jenkin given permission to seek trade
Jenkins enters the final year of his contract and has been granted permission to seek a trade. He saw his role as a starter taken over by Coby Bryant when he was injured.
