Popular actor shares video with razor in hand, debuts new look: ‘I hate it’

Jason Momoa has said goodbye to his beard.

The “A Minecraft Movie” star shared a video on Instagram on Wednesday showing his facial hair being shaved off.

“Haven’t shaved in six years, and here we are again,” Momoa wrote alongside the clip, which begins with him taking an electric razor to his face. “Yeah, d—-t. I hate it,” he says to the person filming after catching a glimpse of his clean shave.

The “Aquaman” actor continues to explain that he hasn’t gone barefaced since filming the first “Dune” movie, where he played Duncan Idaho.

Shooting for the third film was reported to have begun earlier this month in Hungary. Although Momoa’s character died in the first installment, “Dune: Part 3″ is based on the novel “Dune Messiah” in which his character is brought back to life using cloning technology.

“This is the kickoff to Dune 3,” Momoa said later in the video, confirming his appearance in the upcoming film. “Only for you, Denis” he added, referring to Denis Villeneuve, the movie franchise’s director and co-producer.

Momoa also took the time to plug his sustainable bottled water company, Mananalu, which aims to combat single-use plastic and promote environmental responsibility. He explained that he launched Mananalu after filming “Dune.”

Fans shared their thoughts on Momoa’s new look in the comment section. “You look handsome either way, I am a huge fan of the beard, however!” wrote one fan.

Another said: “You look great and the work you’re doing is so very important.”

A third user advised: “Just don’t cut your hair.”

Meanwhile, a fourth user humorously asked: “Why does he look like Rob Lowe when he shaves?”

“Dune: Part Three” is slated to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. You can stream “Dune” and “Dune: Part Two” on HBO Max.
