Reality TV star faced Fourth of July heartbreak: What happened?

Aaron Phyper, actress Denise Richards’ husband, has officially filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” and naming the Fourth of July as the date of their separation in a Los Angeles court filing, People Magazine reported.

In his petition, Phypers claims he has had no income since shutting down his wellness venture, Quantum 360, in 2024, and is seeking spousal support from Richards, The Cut reported.

According to People, the court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court show their combined monthly expenses at around $105,000, covering everything from groceries and dining out to rent, utilities, entertainment, clothing and childcare.

The couple first met in 2017 and married in September 2018. They later starred together on Bravo’s “Denise Richards & Her Wild Things.” The premiere season aired in early 2025.

This marks Richards’ second divorce; she was previously married to Charlie Sheen from 2002 to 2006. The former couple shares two daughters, Sami and Lola.

Phypers was also once married to Nicollette Sheridan, tying the knot in 2015 and splitting in 2016.

While Richards and Phypers had previously declared they would “never get divorced,” even chanting they’d just “have different homes” instead, this development follows recent court battles over his business debts —including a $228,000 creditor judgment — and efforts to prevent garnishing her income, according to The Cut.

“I’m not sure if Bravo was planning to renew her show ‘Denise Richards & Her Wild Things’ or not, but maybe this development, as heartless as it might sound, seals the deal,” cleveland.com’s pop culture reporter Joey Morona said.

There’s no official word from Bravo yet on whether “Denise Richards & Her Wild Things” will be renewed in the wake of the divorce filing.

There haven’t been any public statements or direct comments from Richards regarding the divorce filing.
