While DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers set the NFL world ablaze, Aaron Rodgers to the Steel City would arguably push the insanity even further—and one insider believes the Black and Gold faithful should buckle up for a shocking free agency signing announcement.
According to Gerry Dulac, in a now-deleted tweet, the Pittsburgh Steelers are close to a deal with Rodgers. Dulac explained that once Justin Fields made his desire to test free agency known, Sam Darnold and Rodgers became the next quarterback options:
“The Steelers are getting close to a deal with four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers, per multiple sources. They decided to enter discussions with Rodgers and Sam Darnold when it became apparent Justin Fields wanted to test his value in the free-agent market.”
Rodgers would be the most polarizing choice, with nearly half of the Steelers fanbase wishing he would retire, while the other half would be eager to welcome the four-time MVP to Pittsburgh.
Rodgers would have an incredible cast of skill position players to throw to—arguably the best offensive unit he’s ever played with on paper—featuring a dynamic trio of DK Metcalf, George Pickens, and Pat Freiermuth.
