Richard Chamberlain, the actor who starred in beloved miniseries like The Thorn Birds and Shogun, has died.
Known as the “King of Miniseries,” Chamberlain also played Dr. Kildare on the popular TV series. He was 90, according to Variety, which confirmed his death with his publicist Harland Boll.
The cause of death was “complications following a stroke,” Boll told Variety, revealing that Chamberlain died on March 29, 2025, at 11:15 p.m. in Waimanalo, Hawaii.
“Our beloved Richard is with the angels now,” Martin Rabbett, Chamberlain’s longtime partner, said in a statement to Variety.
“He is free and soaring to those loved ones before us. How blessed were we to have known such an amazing and loving soul. Love never dies. And our love is under his wings lifting him to his next great adventure.”
