The Giants are a mess, according to former No. 2 overall pick and ex-rival quarterback Robert Griffin III.
Big Blue traded back into the first round and drafted Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart with the No. 25 pick, but Griffin sees the move as a potential train wreck.
Griffin clarified that while he loves Dart’s “game” he hates “the situation” that has unfolded due to the pick.
“The New York Giants have no idea what they are doing at QB,” Griffin wrote in a post on X.
“Signed Jameis Winston only to sign Russell Wilson to start over him and then drafted a Rookie QB who will get minimal reps in his redshirt year behind those 2. Lord have mercy.”
The Giants signed Wilson, 36, this offseason to come in and stabilize the team under center, but Griffin seems to think that drafting Dart will actually destabilize the position all over again, as coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are seemingly fighting for their jobs after back-to-back miserable seasons.

Big Blue also added a fellow veteran in Winston, who now will be competing for the backup job.
When a fan asked why Griffin is panning the idea of Dart learning under Wilson, a tactic teams have used to varying success, he referenced the perceived hot seat of the coach and general manager.

“Because this coaching staff and front office might not have more than 8 games this year,” responded Griffin, who is joining Fox Sports as a college football analyst after being let go by ESPN.
“They have to win now. That’s why they brought in Russell and Jameis. Jaxson won’t get the reps he needs to sit and learn in this situation.”
One user responded to Griffin by stating that Dart will be the Giants’ starting quarterback by Week 10, but Griffin doesn’t believe that will help the situation.
“Then the entire staff and GM would be fired which isn’t a great situation for a young QB,” he wrote.
Schoen elected to trade back into the first round and land Dart at the back-end of Round 1, coughing up both a second- and third-round pick this year, plus a third-rounder in next year’s draft.
Interestingly enough, the Giants elected to pass on Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, whom they had a final private workout with just last week.
Even after spending all that draft capital to land Dart, Daboll confirmed that Wilson is the team’s starting quarterback at this time.
Dart, who started his career at USC as a freshman but transferred to Ole Miss when incoming star Caleb Williams followed Lincoln Riley to the Trojans, threw 29 touchdowns and just six interceptions while running for 495 yards last season.

The Giants have been mostly a disaster the better part of the last decade, boasting just one winning record since 2017.
They finished last season 3-14 and Big Blue’s braintrust of Schoen and Daboll could be running out of time to turn this thing around, as pressure comes from both the fanbase and team ownership to start contending again for playoff berths and potentially even championships.
