Crikey! The son of conservationist Steve Irwin, Robert, 21, has just posed practically naked in a reptile themed underwear shoot, and it’s safe to say the internet is going to need a minute (hi, it’s us, we’re the internet).
Robert, who has followed in his father’s footsteps when it comes to caring for the environment and animals, has just been announced as the new campaign star for Australian underwear brand BONDS. And as part of the new campaign, Robert was photographed and filmed in just his undies, while surrounded by snakes, a spider and lizard in a number of images and videos.

Thanks to his nearly 7 million Instagram followers, Robert’s post attracted a lot of likes and a lot of supportive (read: thirsty) comments. Many fans went along the animal conservation route to show their appreciation for the new images, with one saying: “I’m endangered and need rescuing,” and another said: “Suddenly I identify as a crocodile.”
Whereas others were simply too stunned to speak, and left comments such as “Holy moly. An icon,” “And on this day, the internet broke 🫠,” and “These comments have me dying. Well played Robert well played.”
Robert apparently had no hesitation when it came to stripping down for the campaign, exclusively telling People, “It was a pretty immediate yes. I wish I could say I was very suave and cool about the whole thing, but I was like, ‘Yes! Let’s do it!’ Because Bonds in Australia is an absolute icon.”
As for shooting with the animals, that was equally no stress for Robert who spends his life surrounded by reptiles.
“I’ve spent my life wrangling crocs and snakes and rescuing animals,” he told People. “And so to feature a little slice of that excitement in this new campaign, mate, it has been so much fun. I mean, I’m surrounded by spiders and snakes except [this time] I’m in my undies.”
In case you weren’t one of Robert’s 6.7million followers before this campaign (we bet you are now), then here’s a little bit to know about the 21-year-old. He’s the youngest child of famous zookeeper and conservationist Steve Irwin aka The Crocodile Hunter, a beloved figure around the world, who sadly passed away in 2006 following an injury.
Robert and his older sister Bindi, have continued on with their father’s legacy, running the Australia Zoo, as well as forging entertainment careers of their own. Robert is currently the co-host of Australia’s version of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.
Oh and in his interview with People he did in fact confirm he’s currently single, just saying 👀.
