ROLLA, Mo. — Friday night’s storm caused widespread damage across Missouri and greatly impacted at least one Rolla business owner, whose nail salon was completely destroyed.
The owner of CK Nails, Christina Do, learned that the tornado that swept through the area hit her business when a friend sent her a video Friday night of the building located at South Bishop Avenue. Do rushed to the scene in disbelief.
“We have been around since 2014. … it was our last one(business) standing,” Do said of the family business.

Now she’s asking that the community help get their belongings out of the building. “At this point, we don’t even know if this stuff can be saved,” she added.
Hours after the storm, Do started a fundraiser, hoping to raise $30,000. The insurance will not cover all of their expenses, according to the GoFundMe created by Do.
“Our hearts are broken,” she said.
Her hope is to secure a new location, replace lost equipment and supplies, and help employees get back to work. For more details about the business needs and how you can donate, click here.
