Seahawks draft Jalen Milroe: What the quarterback room now looks like

The Seattle Seahawks have rarely drafted quarterbacks under general manager John Schneider, but their continued remake of the quarterback room in 2025 continued on Friday at the NFL Draft.

With the 92nd overall pick, the Seahawks selected former Alabama starter Jalen Milroe, one of the most athletically gifted QBs in this class. There have been major questions about Milroe’s decision making, footwork, and consistent accuracy, but there is no denying he’s a phenomenal runner with a terrific arm and great speed.

This is just the third time the Seahawks have taken a quarterback since Schneider became GM in 2010. Russell Wilson obviously was the famous selection in 2012 as the 75th overall pick (in an offseason in which Seattle signed Matt Flynn). I’d say that worked out pretty well. Then they took Central Florida’s Alex McGough in the seventh round in 2018 and he never made the regular season roster.

There have been many chances for the Seahawks to invest at QB even in the later rounds. At long last, Schneider is making the move.

Here is what the Seahawks’ QB room looks like now that Milroe has been drafted.

Howell could still be traded, so there may be more changes coming. Hall is going to be a massive longshot to make the roster, so it’s very possible that Seattle could have an entirely new set of QBs this year from 2024.
