A TORNADO WATCH is in effect until 7 PM for the Mid-South.
SATURDAY: This is a day we need to pay close attention to for another threat of severe weather, PLUS a heightened risk of flash flooding. A line of strong thunderstorms will move in late morning, early afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded the Mid-South to a MODERATE RISK (Level 4/5) for severe weather. Tornadoes and damaging winds are likely. Behind the line, widespread heavy rain will continue to be a concern, leading to flash flooding.
Rainfall rates will be high, leading to significant rainfall amounts. There is a HIGH RISK for flooding rainfall.
