Shedeur Sanders heavily mocked to a certain AFC North squad in Round 2 mock drafts

The 2025 NFL draft got off to a roaring start Thursday evening, but while it was a highlight day for Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, the evening did not unfold quite like Shedeur Sanders would have hoped.

Sanders is still on the board and one of the top players available as the draft heads into its second day. He is likely to go in Round 2, where there are several quarterback-needy teams bunched up near the beginning of the second round.

Cleveland, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Las Vegas appear to be the front-runners for the Colorado quarterback. Day 2 mock drafts seem to have him almost going exclusively to one of those four teams, but could Sanders fall into Round 3? It is possible, considering the Steelers do not own a second pick, likely making them only an option in Round 3.

Here’s a look at where the latest mock drafts have Sanders landing on Day 2.

33. Cleveland Browns: “The Browns need a quarterback and Sanders fell all the way to them at No. 33. This works out perfectly as the Browns get a plug-and-play starter without having to give up extra draft capital to move back into the first round to do so.”

33. Cleveland Browns: “It should not come as a shock to people who paid close attention that Sanders fell out of the first round, nor that Jaxson Dart was selected ahead of him. That said, Sanders and Dart were very close with regard to the QB2/QB3 discussion. If Cleveland can use the extra picks it acquired Thursday to fortify its rebuild and give Sanders time to grow, this could be a great fit.”

33. Cleveland Browns: “The Browns weren’t comfortable selecting a quarterback in Round 1, but the front office is able to spend Friday coming to a consensus on Sanders — whose value looks much better at No. 33 than it did in the top five. The pressure to play him and his pressure to perform are much more manageable in this spot.”

37. Las Vegas Raiders: “Super-cozy landing spot for Sanders, with Tom Brady’s team, learning behind Geno Smith for a season or two in Las Vegas.”

33. Cleveland Browns: “Sanders may be below average in stature and arm talent compared to NFL quarterbacks, but he plays the game cleanly, takes care of the football and is tough as nails with ice in his veins under pressure.”

33. Cleveland Browns: “After falling out of the first round Thursday, Sanders won’t have to wait long to hear his name called Friday. The Browns spent considerable time with him during the draft process.”

33. Cleveland Browns: “Cleveland currently doesn’t have an answer at quarterback, but taking one here isn’t a certainty since there are still other options. The QB void is also made more interesting by the fact that the Browns have two picks close together at the top of the second round and didn’t use their flexibility. Why not trade back into the first round using one of these picks and a later-round pick to ensure the future fifth-round option if they are ultimately going to draft a quarterback? Sanders would also have to be the guy in Cleveland, but if he’s fallen this far, does the league trust he can do that right away?”
