Slight severe risk Sunday, showers Monday, then pleasant by Tuesday

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — The Tornado Watch has been canceled in our area. The severe threat has transitioned into a flood threat.

Multiple Flash Flood Warnings have been issued so far today, including in Mobile. The risk of flash flooding will persist into the evening as storms crawl to the east. Most of our area is now in a level 3 moderate excessive rainfall risk which means numerous flash flood warnings are expected. If you can, stay off the roads. Turn around, don’t drown!

We could see a brief lull in our weather tonight, however, the rain won’t be done. Even after the cold front passes, showers will be possible into Monday, especially for area along and east of I-65. The rain won’t be as heavy compared to today, but any rain on top of what we’ve seen will keep the flooding risk elevated.

By Monday afternoon, drier air will start to move in. Monday will also be a cooler day as highs likely won’t get out of the 60s and it will be breezy as well.

For the rest of the week, we’ll settle into a stretch of drier weather for a change with mostly sunny days and mostly clear nights! Highs will range mainly in the 70s, however, over nights, especially Monday night through Wednesday night will mainly be in the 40s! Lows return to the 50s for the end of the week.

At the beach, the rip current risk stays HIGH through Monday. There’s also a Small Craft Advisory in effect.
