JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As the Jaguars made a deal to exchange their fifth pick for the second pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, a Jaguars superfan was about to experience history as it happened.
As Travis Hunter’s name was being announced, Dr. Melissa Fullmore, a Jaguars fan, was being called to get ready.
“What I didn’t know is that after the first pick some people came, rushed over to me and said we need to get you back now so I kind of had an inkling then that we had traded up for the second pick and that if we did that it was for one person and one person only which was Travis Hunter,” Fullmore said.

Fullmore was standing behind the stage of the 2025 NFL Draft, waiting for Fanatics to make Hunter’s first jersey as a Jaguar within minutes.
Hot off the press, literally, the staff handed Hunter’s first jersey to Fullmore. She had the honorable task of walking that jersey from behind the curtain, onto the stage, and handing it off to the NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell.
Fullmore pinched herself to make sure this isn’t all a dream.
“The best answer I can give you is surreal. I still want to pinch myself. I can’t believe I keep waking up in Green Bay and it’s still happening,” Fullmore said. “It’s a surreal experience as a fan to be behind the scenes and know what happened. Just to hand it to the commissioner bar none.”
As the excitement continues for Jaguars fans all over the world, they are hopeful that Hunter will make the Jaguars and the city better.
