The Memphis Police Department has identified, and obtained a warrant to arrest, the man they say shot and killed rapper Sayso P and injured Sauce Walka Saturday.
Jayden Dandridge, 21, was charged with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony and auto theft.
“The Memphis Police Department’s homicide unit has worked tirelessly around the clock to bring justice to the victims and their families,” MPD Chief Cerelyn “C.J.” Davis said in a press release. “Through the combined use of cutting-edge technology, including surveillance cameras and real-time data, our team was able to piece together vital information in under 12 hours. This speaks to the dedication of our officers and the effectiveness of the tools at our disposal in solving violent crimes and ensuring public safety.”
What happened to Sayso P and Sauce Walka?
Police responded to the shooting Saturday afternoon, just after 2:40 p.m., outside the Westin Hotel near the FedExForum. Police have said the shooting was targeted.
The auto theft charge stems from a 2021 Dodge Charger 392 Scat Pack that MPD said it had recovered.

Sayso P, born Latorian Hunt, was 27 at the time of his death. He was an up-and-coming rapper from Memphis who was signed to Sauce Walka’s record label. Sauce Walka, born Albert Walker Mondane, is a Houston rapper.
