Sydney Sweeney is back on the market following her split from fiancé Jonathan Davino.
“Sydney and Jonathan are officially split,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, noting that the Euphoria actress is “telling friends she is single.”
Earlier this month, Sweeney, 27, sparked breakup rumors when she deleted a post of Davino, 41, off her social media. An additional insider later told Us that Sweeney and Davino’s wedding plans had come to a “halt.”
“They were supposed to get married this spring. The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it,” the second source claimed. “Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”
2025 kicked off with a slew of celebrity breakups. Two months after first sparking split rumors, Jessica Simpson announced that she and Eric Johnson had called it quits after 10 years of marriage. “Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” she told Us Weekly in a January 13 […]
Days later, Sweeney was spotted with her Anyone But You costar — and friend — Glen Powell at a restaurant in Dallas. (A source told Us at the time that the pair are “just friends.”)
Sweeney and Davino first sparked dating rumors in 2018. Four years later, Us Weekly confirmed their engagement in March 2022.
Over the years, Sweeney kept her relationship with the restaurateur relatively private, though she did offer a rare glimpse into their dynamic in December 2023.
“I’ve been in a steady relationship for a really long time, which is not normal in this industry and not normal for my age,” she told Glamour U.K. at the time. “What I’ve noticed about the idea of celebrity is people really love to build someone up and then tear them down.”

After Sweeney became famous, she recognized a “crazy” conversation started online about her love life.
“Everyone is always so curious about who I’m with and what’s that like, but I think it’s important to have something for me. I’m very open [otherwise],” she explained. “I talk about so much and sometimes it gets me in trouble, but I do try to keep something for me.”
Sweeney claimed a false narrative of her romance with Davino had played out for “six years” and revealed the pair had recently become “producing partners.”
“It’s really great to work with someone who knows you so well, who fully supports your ideas, your vision and your voice,” she said. “And it’s nice. I mean, who doesn’t want to be with their best friend all the time? … I just wanted to bring everybody into my world.”
Earlier that month, Sweeney told Entertainment Tonight that she and Davino had not set a wedding date yet because she was “so busy working,” adding, “I’m a workaholic and I love it, I love it.”
In October 2024, Sweeney “set the record” straight about considering herself and Davino equals.
Sydney Sweeney and fiancé Jonathan Davino have kept their romance under the radar. Though the pair – who were first romantically linked in 2018 – have kept their relationship mostly out of the spotlight, Sweeney has given fans a glimpse of their romance through rare outings, interviews and more over the years. “I don’t date […]
“You can be in a healthy relationship with someone and also be very successful without needing the man,” she told Glamour. “We’re teammates. We’re in it together. And we want to see each other succeed.”
Amid Sweeney and Davino’s engagement, rumors surfaced that she was having an affair with Powell. The actors ultimately denied they were more than friends, but a source told Us in May 2023 that the situation led to “a huge test of [her] relationship” with Davino.
Sweeney previously divulged in a February 2022 interview with Cosmopolitan that dating “people in the spotlight” was a dealbreaker for her.
“I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it’s easiest,” she said. “I look for a best friend. I need to be able to be with someone who I can literally hang out with 24/7 and never get sick of and we laugh every single day.”
