While emotions ran the full gamut during The White Lotus season 3 finale, the show’s cast looked nothing but happy while reuniting ahead of the last episode.

Several members of the HBO series reacted to the episode’s shocking twists and turns during a panel at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village in California on Sunday, April 6. After posing for pics in a shimmering silver minidress, Aimee Lou Wood opened up about her character Chelsea’s unexpected demise.

“It’s really weird, and it looked exactly how it felt [to shoot], which was really strange,” Wood, 31, shared during the Tan France-hosted panel, per Deadline. “It’s a lot, and it’s so clever, because at the end you want to hold the joy of the triumph … but you’re still there like ‘ehhh.’ It might just make you sit in that really achy place.”

Sunday’s episode saw Chelsea get caught in a shootout between her boyfriend, Rick (Walton Goggins), and resort guards after the former killed his father, Jim (Scott Glenn). After trying to get her help, an injured Rick dies alongside his love.

Despite her character’s sad end, Wood said the overall episode has “a lot of hope in it,” explaining, “There was a lot of softness … I found it incredibly uncynical.”
