The Detroit Tigers head to the Pacific Northwest tonight to begin a three-game set with the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.
After getting swept by the Dodgers, I’ll explain below why I expect Detroit to bounce back in my Tigers vs Mariners predictions.

My Tigers vs Mariners best bet: Tigers moneyline (+120 at Caesars)
The Detroit Tigers had a very impressive 2024 campaign, making the playoffs for the first time since 2014. While they did lose in the ALDS, the future is bright for this ball club with a nice mix of young talent and veterans.
Unfortunately, Detroit was met with the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in their first season series, and it wasn’t pretty. Aside from the obvious motivation they’ll have tonight to bounce back and grab a victory, there’s more reason to believe AJ Hinch’s squad will respond.
The AL Central ball club has won three in a row against the Seattle Mariners, most recently sweeping them last August. In fact, the Tigers were 5-1 vs. Seattle in the ‘24 season.
The M’s send Emerson Hancock to the hill, who has minimal experience at the big league level. He’s also never faced Detroit before and had an ERA well over four last year.
The M’s are a team the Tigers clearly play well against, and they’ll be hungry to win a game. Considering they’re also an underdog here, this is a great bet that offers immense value.

Julio Rodriguez isn’t off to the best start this season, batting just .167 with one homer and two RBI in four games. However, he’s had much success against the Tigers in his MLB career. In 14 contests vs Detroit, the two-time All-Star is hitting .346 with three long balls and nine RBI.
As for last season? Rodriguez went 3-for7 (.429) in two games against them.
Zach McKinstry is off to a nice start, slashing .375 in three games. Although McKinstry is just a .255 hitter against the Mariners in his career, he did bat .300 against them last season with six hits in 20 at-bats.
Three of those hits were singles and three were doubles. I don’t see him having any issues finding a base knock tonight.
