Tracy Morgan says food poisoning was cause of illness at Knicks game

Tracy Morgan says the culprit was food poisoning after he had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair when he fell ill while sitting courtside during a New York Knicks game.

The comedian shared on Instagram on March 18 that he is recovering after doctors told him some bad food was responsible for him vomiting on the ground at the game and being taken to the hospital. The incident occurred during the third quarter of the Knicks’ win over the Miami Heat on March 17, causing the game to be delayed.

“Thank you for all your concern!” Morgan wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of him giving a thumbs-up in a hospital bed. “I’m doing ok now and doctors say it was food poisoning. Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me and I need to shout out the crew that had to clean that up. Appreciate you!”

The Knicks went on to a 116-95 victory over Miami after Morgan was removed via wheelchair as he was seen covering his mouth with a towel. Morgan is a courtside regular at Knicks games.

“More importantly, the Knicks are now 1-0 when I throw up on the court so maybe I’ll have to break it out again in the playoffs 😅 #goknicks,” Morgan joked on Instagram.

Fans wished for a speedy recovery for the comedian.

“Glad you’re feeling better. Always hilarious even with food poisoning,” one commented on Instagram.

“So glad that it was a straightforward problem. Feel better soon!” another wrote.

Morgan has persevered through a host of health issues in the last 15 years. He was a passenger in a limousine bus hit by a Walmart tractor trailer in 2014, which resulted in a broken leg, broken ribs, brain trauma and a coma. He also had a kidney transplant in 2010.
