These food items are used to unlock rewards by serving them to the Chris P. NPC. The Trading and Cooking Event Update was launched in Grow a Garden on Saturday, August 2, 2025 and it introduced a special cooking event, a trading system, new pets, and plenty more. The cooking event introduces an all-new item type to Grow a Garden—food items. Players can use these food items to unlock Gourmet Seed packs, Gourmet Eggs, and a variety of exclusive rewards.The developers have added the Cooking feature that allows users to mix ingredients to make unique food recipes that can be served to the Chris P. How to make cake in Grow A Garden
Before you start your chef journey, knowing the cooking recipes for sandwich, burger, waffle, and more is a must. Additionally, many food items allow for different combinations of fruits, so feel free to experiment when crafting larger meals. Once you’ve included the key ingredients required for a specific recipe, adding extra fruits won’t affect the outcome. Fruits are interchangeable, so players can use any type to reach the five-ingredient limit if needed.According to IGN, the biggest change in trading and cooking update is the Chris P. Bacon Cooking event, where you can cook up different recipes for unique rewards. Using the fruit and many plants in your garden, you can add them to a Cooking Pot and then feed them to Chris P. The size and rarity of the food you cook will impact the rewards you get.

How to cook food items in Grow a Garden
Hold the required fruit for the recipe and press the E key when you’re near the Cooking Pot.After submitting the ingredients, the board on the left will display the cooking time.You can either remove items from the list or click the green COOK button beneath the pot to begin.Once you click COOK, a timer will appear above the pot. When it finishes, approach the pot and press the E key to collect your food.How to give food items to Pig NPC in Grow a GardenChris P, also known as the Pig NPC, is the gourmet judge of Grow a Garden. He evaluates your culinary creations and rewards you based on how well you satisfy his cravings.Keep an eye on the timer floating above his head—it updates every hour and reveals what food item he’s currently craving.For instance, if the speech bubble says, “HotDog would be nice,” handing him a hotdog increases your chances of earning better rewards.
Here’s how to serve food to Chris P:
Approach Chris P and press E to open the interaction menu.Equip the food item he’s asking for.Click on “Try this food I cooked up!” to submit your dish.After a short evaluation, Chris P will hand out your well-earned rewards.
