UDFA Tracker: Cowboys still adding players following 2025 Draft

FRISCO, Texas – As Cowboys COO and co-owner Stephen Jones said multiple times last week, player acquisition is a 24/7, 365 operation. That continues to be the case for the Cowboys following the 2025 NFL Draft with the expected signings of undrafted free agents.

Throughout the draft process, the front office raved about how deep the class was all around and plenty of talented players remained available once all 257 picks were made. Dallas has done good work in the UDFA market in the past, with the most recent example being Rico Dowdle in 2024 when he became the first UDFA in franchise history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season.

In the past, the Cowboys have found hidden gems that turned into Hall of Famers in players like Drew Pearson and Cliff Harris, and still have contributors on their current roster from the UDFA ranks with Brandon Aubrey, KaVontae Turpin and Terence Steele amongst others.

Here are the players that are expected to sign with the Cowboys:

Note: Signings will not become official until they arrive in Dallas to ink a contract, as they could flip their intentions beforehand.

  • Traeshon Holden, WR, Oregon – Holden reunites with his collegiate position coach Junior Adams on the Cowboys after spending his final two years of his college career with Adams at Oregon. In 2024, he was an honorable mention All-Big 10 player who racked up 718 yards and five touchdowns. He’s a big target at 6’2, 205 pounds that can play strong and go up to get the ball.
  • Zion Childress, CB, Kentucky – A Houston native, Childress started his career at Texas State before making the jump to the SEC and Kentucky in 2022. He was a team captain in 2023 and 2024, starting 25 straight games at the nickel position. He plays fast and physical, which will translate well to the NFL level whether it’s on special teams or defense.

  • Justin Barron, LB, Syracuse – Barron spent five years at Syracuse and moved to the defensive side of the ball after playing wide receiver in high school. He’d go on to play safety, nickel and linebacker for the Orange, earning honorable mention All-ACC honors in his last two seasons, where he was also a team captain. He started 26 straight games in final two years and led the team in tackles last season with 93, adding 9.5 TFLs and two sacks.
  • Josh Kelly, WR, Texas Tech – Kelly transferred to Texas Tech for his final season of college football after four years at Fresno State and a year at Washington State, and had the best season of his career. He was named to the second team All-Big 12 leading the Red Raiders in receiving yards with 1,023 to pair with five touchdowns. Uses quick feet to break on his routes and can make guys miss after the catch.
