Using DRAFTIQ draft scores to rank each team’s 2025 draft

NFL and AWS used AI to put together a data-based way to rate college players in the draft using athleticism and productivity to give every player a score from 50-100. The draft score is mostly based on production with a 2:1 weighting to athleticism (production:athleticism 2:1). There were 327 players graded for this draft and 232 of those were drafted. The Broncos drafted three players that were not given a draft score: Que Robinson, Jeremy Crawshaw, and Trent Lohner. Robinson only played 400 non-special teams snaps in his college career. Crawshaw was part of a group that did not get ranked – punters, and Lohner played so little that he was not on any draft board that I saw.

That being said, if you look at just the four players that get a score and were drafted by the Broncos, the Broncos were ranked fourth behind the Seahawks, the Giants and the Browns.

The average for the Bronco draftees was 77.3. The Browns 80.3 was the best. All seven of the Browns draftees got a draft score. Like the Broncos, the Seahawks drafted three players who did not have a score, as did the Raiders. I ran the numbers with and without the guys with a draft score. For the guys who did not have a score, I gave them a score of 50, which is the lowest possible. Doing that drops the Broncos average from 4th to dead last, from 77.3 down to 65.6.

Without factoring in the guys with no draft score, the Dolphins had the worst draft, but they move up to 29th with the unscored guys being factored in (final column on the right in the table above).

The rest of the AFC West draft (removing unscored guys) is shown below. The Chiefs got their highest graded player with the 133rd pick, but the Chargers and the Faiders got their highest scored player with their first picks. KC was desperate for OL talent in a year with limited OT and IOL talent. Simmons was the fifth OT picked in the 2025 draft (another draft where the Broncos failed to pick a single OT – nine years in a row).

There were 23 tackles drafted with the last one being taken with the 250th pick the draft by Green Bay, John Williams (not the composer) from Cincinnati.
