Warriors Make Historic Steph Curry Announcement After Lakers Game

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has turned in back-to-back dominant performances when his team needed it most. In a tightly-contested Western Conference seeding battle, Golden State picked up consecutive wins over the Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Lakers to improve to 45-31 on the season.

Scoring 52 points in the win over Memphis, Curry followed that with 37 points against Los Angeles on Thursday night. The win pulls Golden State within one game of the Lakers, tightening the seeding race and battle for the Pacific Division title.

In 64 games this season, Curry is averaging 24.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.1 assists.

With his 37-point performance against the Lakers, Curry became the oldest point guard ever with back-to-back 35-point games (via StatMamba on X). Turning 37 years old on March 14, Curry continues to make history in his 16th NBA season.

This was not the only age-related history Curry made on Thursday night. In a post after the game, the Warriors made a historic announcement about their star point guard.

“Stephen has 89 points over his last two games,” the team wrote on X. “He joins Michael Jordan and LeBron James as the only players in NBA history over the age of 37 to tally that many points in a two-game span.”

This win was Golden State’s fourth-straight. Peaking at the right time, the Warriors are nearing the postseason with a lot of momentum. Still just one loss above the Play-In Tournament, the Warriors must continue this strong form to secure an automatic playoff spot.
