Pittsburgh took Howard, the former national championship-winning quarterback for Ohio State, in the sixth round, using the No. 185 overall pick.

After transferring from Kansas State last year, Howard helped to lead the Buckeyes to a title by throwing for 4,010 yards and 35 touchdowns.
Dwayne Haskins Jr. and C.J. Stroud were the only other passers in school history to throw as many yards in a season.
By landing in Pittsburgh, Howard returns to his home state. He grew up in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, a suburb west of Philadelphia.
