Protesters across the country are preparing for a day of demonstrations Saturday to give the following message to U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk: “Hands off.”
The protests are set to take place in a number of suburbs and major cities across the country. Demonstrations are planned in South Jersey, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
The “Hands Off!” webpage accuses the Trump administration of the “most brazen power grab in modern history. … If we don’t fight now, there won’t be anything left to save.”

Why are people protesting April 5?
Eileen Hill, a 70-year-old retired physician, is the founder and leader of South Jersey NOW Indivisible.
Hill is set to join protesters in Philadelphia on April 5 to voice their concerns about the Trump administration, including tariffs, cuts to federal agencies and more.
“The only thing that’s going to save us is the rising up of the people,” Hill said.
Diane Herbert, 49, of Camden County plans to join locals from Cooper River Indivisible to protest in Washington, DC. She said the group is renting a tour bus for the trip.
The veterinarian said that while she’s “not really an activist,” she has a list of concerns and grievances regarding the current administration.
“I’m really just a regular person,” she added.
Herbert said she’s especially fearful that expansions of executive power could cause problems with the country’s systems of checks and balances. She also expressed concerns about deportations, attempts to defund research and Musk’s closeness to the administration.
“I’m not specifically calling for his impeachment … I do understand that he was elected,” Herbert said of Trump.
“My biggest hope is that Congress will see that people are not happy and that they will … press back.”
