Watch: What Happened to Wednesday’s Xavier? His Fate Revealed After Percy Hynes White Accused of Misconduct
Nevermore Academy’s student body is a little different this semester.
More than two years after Wednesday‘s Percy Hynes White was accused of sexual misconduct, his character Xavier Thorpe was cut from the Netflix show’s second season.
As for how his absence was explained in the Jenna Ortega-led series? The new principal, Barry Dort (Steve Buscemi), revealed in episode one, which dropped August 6, that “he’s heading to Reichenbach Academy in Switzerland.”
After all, Xavier’s dad Vincent Thorpe wasn’t too pleased that, last season, his son was mistaken as the killer Hyde, who turned out to be Wednesday’s other love interest, Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan). His move to a new school means a more prominent role for Wednesday’s mom Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones) as the chairperson of Nevermore’s gala fundraising committee.
“Vincent Thorpe chaired the last three years,” Principal Dort—who took over for Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie) after her death last season—explained. “But after Xavier was falsely accused of murder, he pulled his son and his endowment from Nevermore.”
Although Xavier didn’t make an appearance in the new season, he did send Wednesday a goodbye letter, along with a haunting portrait of a certain one-eyed crow that’s been seen flying around Jericho.
“I tried texting, but I guess you lost the phone I gave you,” Wednesday’s roommate Enid (Emma Myers) read from the letter in their dorm room. “Consider this my goodbye gift. The image suddenly flashed in my head. Don’t ask me how I know or what it means, but it’s connected to you, I’m sure. Who’s Wednesday Addams without a mystery to solve, right?”

The actor’s absence comes after he was accused of sexual harassment allegations in January 2023. Though he denied the accusations, which stemmed from since-deleted posts on X, he has faced the lasting impact of the claims.
“Somebody I’ve never met started a campaign of misinformation against me online,” White wrote on his Instagram Stories in June 2023. “Because of this, my family has been doxxed, and my friends have received death threats.”
“The rumors are false,” the 23-year-old continued. “I can’t accept the portrayal of me as someone bigoted or criminally negligent of people’s safety. These are the kind of baseless, harmful claims that can create mistrust toward victims.”

Today, he has no hard feelings against the show, which, according to Deadline, he was given the opportunity to move forward with. “I had so much fun working on this show. I can’t wait to watch season 2 :),” he wrote on his Instagram Stories in May. “Much love.”
E! News has reached out to White’s reps for comment and has not yet heard back. Netflix declined to comment.
Part one of Wednesday is streaming now on Netflix, with part two premiering Sept. 6.
