Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson’s awkward interview moment had Dave Portnoy’s skin crawling.
Portnoy said that the excruciating interview interrupted his typical routine of coffee and “CBS Sunday Morning.”
“Imagine my surprise this morning when they had the most awkward Bill Belichick interview I’ve ever seen,” Portnoy said on the “Barstool Rundown” podcast. “I was squirming in my seat.”

The longstanding story of how the couple met was that they were on a plane in 2021 when Hudson asked Belichick to sign her textbook. But when Belichick was asked about this in the interview, Hudson strangely and somewhat aggressively dismissed the topic.
Now, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of that story and of the dynamics of their relationship.
But Portnoy’s discomfort with it all wasn’t just from Hudson’s awkward shutdown-response to a question about how the polarizing couple met.

He was particularly stunned when the interview showed photos of Belichick and Hudson from Halloween.
“I don’t know if he knew anyone else saw those photos,” the Barstool Sports founder said. “I was literally squirming. Then it went crazy viral. People are saying he’s like being held hostage. I don’t think he knows still what social media is and that these photos are out there.”

The 73-year-old North Carolina football coach was always known for his standoffish attitude toward media in his NFL career with the Patriots, so this mega-viral relationship with the 24-year-old Hudson is uncharted territory.
Though Belichick never loved the media, he was always prepared for what was coming next. Until this time with Hudson’s strange reaction to the interviewer’s question about the two’s meeting..
“He’s been a guy who’s never cared what anybody has thought,” the Patriots fan Portnoy said of Belichick. “But I’ve never seen him seemingly stunned in an interview, like ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe you asked that.’ I’ve just never seen it. For it to come from the ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ guy … these are the nicest interviewers ever.”
Portnoy felt that Hudson had the wrong idea when she got defensive surrounding the question.
“[CBS Sunday Morning’s] not [a] controversial [platform]. Those interviews are positive,” he said. “They’re never supposed to be, like, an ounce of [anything negative], that’s why I was stunned.”
Hudson responded to all the drama by posting an email Belichick sent that strangely was centered on the promotion of his upcoming book.
No matter what comes of all this, it’s safe to say that things are getting weird.
Many of Belichick’s friends are already “shaking their heads,” an insider told The Post.
