After nearly three years, “Star Wars” fans may finally rejoice, as the second season of the spin-off series, “Andor” returns to Disney+.

Set before “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “Andor” follows Cassian Andor, who works with a band of rebels to steal the Empire’s plans for The Death Star, all setting the stage for the the 1977 release, “Star Wars: Episode IV − A New Hope.” Season 2 of “Andor” explores how the rebels’ relationships intensify as war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance, Disney+ shared in a news release.

The first season of the popular series released in September 2022. The series was nominated for eight Primetime Emmys in 2023, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.

The first three episodes of the second series release on Tuesday, April 22. Here’s what to know about the season premiere.

Season 2 of “Andor” premieres on Tuesday, April 22 at 9 p.m. ET. The first three episodes of the series will be released simultaneously.

Following the initial release, three episodes will be released every Tuesday as part of the following schedule:

  • April 29: Episodes 4-6
  • May 6: Episodes 7-9
  • May 13: Episode 10-12
