Yes, Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, New York returns on Friday, July 4 and this year, Joey Chestnut returns after a one-year ban.

In the last 18 years, Chestnut has failed to win the Mustard Belt just two times. Once was 2024 — the result of a ban over a contract dispute.

What time is the Hot Dog Eating Contest?

Miki Sudo and the women get the Nathan’s Famous festivities underway at 10:45 a.m. ET. Joey Chestnut and the men take the stage around noon.

  • Women’s competition start time: 10:45 a.m. ET
  • Men’s competition start time: Noon ET

What channel is Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest on?

The women’s side of the competition will air on ESPN3, the digital network. ESPN2 will carry the men’s competition.

Why was Joey Chestnut banned last year? 

Joey Chestnut was previously banned in 2024 due to a sponsorship with Impossible Foods. He is set to compete in the 2025 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest.
