Sydney Sweeney did more than just call off her wedding to her longtime partner, Jonathan Davino. The 27-year-old actress ended their relationship of seven years, People, Us Weekly, and TMZ report.
A source explained to People that Sweeney realized she wasn’t ready to settle down with her 41-year-old long-term partner. Her career is her priority as “she’s exactly where she wants to be,” the source explained. “Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects. What did make her overwhelmed though was her relationship and her wedding. She didn’t feel right about it.”
The insider added that Sweeney is “in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago. This is what she wants to focus on right now.”
TMZ learned from its own source that Sweeney and Davino quietly separated in January. The outlet noted that they were last photographed together on January 20.

Us Weekly confirmed the breakup this evening as well, with a source telling the outlet, “Sydney and Jonathan are officially split. [She is] telling friends she is single.”
Earlier this week, a second source told Us Weekly that it was Sweeney who called off their nupitals. “They were supposed to get married this spring,” the insider said. “The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it. Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”
TMZ originally reported in February that the couple had postponed their May wedding.
Sweeney, meanwhile, has not commented on her relationship. She drew attention recently for deleting a photo of herself kissing Davino on Instagram, but other photos of him remain on her account.
In December 2023, Sweeney admitted that she tries not to talk about her love life for a reason. “Everyone is always so curious about who I’m with and what’s that like, but I think it’s important to have something for me,” she told Glamour UK. “I’m very open [otherwise]. I talk about so much, and sometimes, it gets me in trouble, but I do try to keep something for me.”
