Wimbledon 2025 live updates: Semifinal wins for Sinner, Alcaraz set up thrilling rematch in men’s final

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz has reached his third successive Wimbledon final, with world No. 1 Jannik Sinner awaiting him in a mouthwatering rematch of last month’s instant classic French Open final.

Alcaraz, who won the men’s singles title in 2023 and 2024, beat U.S. fifth seed Taylor Fritz 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(6) earlier today to reach Sunday’s final.

Sinner then reached his first career Wimbledon final by easily dispatching a seemingly hobbled Novak Djokovic, the seven-time champion who was seeking his seventh consecutive trip to the final. Sinner rolled through the first two sets and stormed back from 3-0 down in the third to win 6-3, 6-3, 6-4.

The 38-year-old Djokovic looked clearly limited by the slip he took near the end of his quarterfinal match two days ago against Flavio Cobolli.

Before Sunday’s drama, Centre Court will host the women’s singles final tomorrow when U.S. star Amanda Anisimova (13) and Iga Świątek (8) bid for their first Wimbledon title.
